Using Clevershare step by step on Windows and Mac

Please note: this is independent guidance. Vision Tech is not affiliated with Clevertouch. Menus and features differ between models and software versions, so check your screen's own manual or on-screen help, and speak to your school IT team or supplier before changing admin-locked settings, updating firmware or doing a factory reset.

Clevershare is Clevertouch's wireless sharing tool. It lets you show your computer's screen on the panel without cables. The exact app and steps vary with your screen's software and what your school has set up, so use this as a general guide and follow any instructions your IT team gives you.

Before you start

  • Your computer and the screen usually need to be on the same network, or the screen needs to be reachable through it. School networks sometimes block this.
  • You normally need the Clevershare app or a supported browser method. Ask IT which one to use.
  • Look at the panel for a Clevershare icon or screen showing a name and code.

On a Windows computer

  1. Open the Clevershare app on your laptop.
  2. Enter the code or choose the name of your screen, as shown on the panel.
  3. Choose to share your whole screen or a single window, if offered.
  4. Your picture should appear on the panel after a moment.
  5. Choose Stop or Disconnect in the app when you finish.

On a Mac

  1. Open the Clevershare app, or the sharing method your school uses.
  2. Enter the code or pick your screen from the list.
  3. If macOS asks for permission to record your screen, open System Settings, go to Privacy & Security, and allow it for the app. You may need to restart the app.
  4. Choose the whole screen or one window.
  5. Stop sharing from the app when finished.

Tips

  • Close private email and messages first.
  • Mute notifications so they do not appear on the big screen.
  • Move close to the screen if you can, as a long distance can slow the picture.
  • Video may look less smooth wirelessly than with a cable.

When to get more help

Ask IT if the app is not installed, the code is rejected, the picture keeps freezing, or sharing works at home but not at school. Tell them the device, the app version if you can see it, and any message shown.

Did this help? If you are still stuck, email Vision Tech and tell us what you can see on the screen. Menus and button names can differ slightly between versions and makes. If something does not match, stop and ask rather than guess.
