Using Clevershare on Chromebook, iPad, iPhone and Android
Clevershare and similar wireless methods can often be used from tablets and phones as well as computers. What you need depends on the device, your school's network and which software your Clevertouch screen runs, so ask IT if the steps here do not match.
Before you start
- Check whether your school allows personal devices to join the network.
- Make sure the device is on the same Wi-Fi or approved network as the panel, if your IT team has told you to do so.
- Look for the panel's sharing screen, which normally shows a name and a code.
Chromebook
Many schools install the Clevershare app or extension on staff Chromebooks. Open it, enter the code or choose the screen, and select what to share. If you cannot find it, ask IT, since Chromebooks managed by a school may be limited.
iPad and iPhone
Depending on your set up, you may use the Clevershare app from the App Store, or Apple's built-in screen mirroring if the panel supports it. In the app, enter the code, then allow screen sharing when your device asks. To stop, use the app or the device's own stop button.
Android phones and tablets
Install the Clevershare app from the store if your school allows it, open it, then enter the code or choose the screen. Allow screen capture when asked. Some Android devices also have a built-in casting option with a name such as screen cast or smart view, which may work if the panel supports it.
Tips for everyone
- Turn off notifications before sharing.
- Keep the device awake while sharing.
- Hold the device in landscape for the best picture.
- Stop sharing when you finish, so the next person can connect.
When to get more help
Ask IT if you cannot find the app, your device is blocked, the code never works, or the picture is very slow. Tell them the device type, its software version and the message you see.
