Lynx Whiteboard: pages, shapes and text
Lynx Whiteboard is the whiteboard software found on many Clevertouch screens. Menus differ slightly between versions, so use these steps as a general guide and look for the matching icons on your own toolbar.
Opening it and adding pages
- Open Lynx Whiteboard from the home screen or app list.
- Look for an option to add a New page. Many versions show page thumbnails or a page counter at the edge of the screen.
- Use the arrows or the thumbnails to move between pages. It is worth adding a new page for each part of the lesson, so you can go back and review.
Drawing shapes
Find the shapes tool in the toolbar. Choose a shape such as a line, rectangle or circle, then drag on the page to draw it. Many versions let you change the colour and thickness afterwards. If you want a neat shape from a rough drawing, check whether your version has a shape-recognition option.
Adding text
- Choose the text tool.
- Touch the page where you want the text to go.
- Type using the on-screen keyboard, or connect a keyboard if you have one.
- Touch outside the box to finish.
You can usually move a text box by selecting it and dragging, and change the size or colour from the options that appear.
Moving and resizing things
Use the select tool, touch the object and drag it. Handles at the corners normally resize it. Many versions let you copy, paste and delete from a small menu that appears on the object.
Good habits
- Save your file before the end of the lesson, to a USB stick or cloud storage.
- Do not rely on the screen's own storage for anything important or private, as other people may be able to see it.
- Keep each page simple, with large text and a few clear items.
When to get more help
If Lynx Whiteboard will not open, a tool is missing, or your files will not save, ask IT. Tell them what version you have, if you can see it in the app's menu, and what you were doing.
