How to change the input source on a Clevertouch screen

Please note: this is independent guidance. Vision Tech is not affiliated with Clevertouch. Menus and features differ between models and software versions, so check your screen's own manual or on-screen help, and speak to your school IT team or supplier before changing admin-locked settings, updating firmware or doing a factory reset.

An interactive screen can show different things: its own built-in system, a laptop, or a computer module fitted inside. Changing the input source tells the screen which one to display.

What the options usually are

On many Clevertouch screens you may see options such as the built-in Android system, a computer module (often called OPS or PC), HDMI 1, HDMI 2 and sometimes others. The names and the number of inputs vary by model and software version, so the options on your screen may look slightly different.

Using the on-screen menu

On many screens you can go to the home screen and choose Connect to select the input. On some, swiping up from the bottom edge with one finger brings up input selection quickly. Not every model or software version works this way, so look at what appears on your own screen.

Using the remote or the screen buttons

  1. Press the Input or Source button on the remote control, or on the screen near the power button.
  2. A list of inputs appears.
  3. Move to the one you want and select it.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the picture to appear.

Without the remote, many screens have an input button near the power button. Press it repeatedly to cycle through the options.

Pick the right one

  • Laptop connected by HDMI: choose the HDMI input that your lead is plugged into.
  • Built-in apps and whiteboard: choose the built-in system.
  • Computer module: choose the module or PC option.

Common issues

If you see "no signal", the screen is probably on the wrong input or the lead is loose. See our guide on no signal.

When to get more help

If an input is missing from the list, or the screen switches input by itself, it may be a setting your IT team controls. Contact them or your supplier. If the screen is managed by your school or company, some settings may be locked. Your IT team or the supplier you bought the screen from can help with warranty, firmware and admin-locked settings.

Did this help? If you are still stuck, email Vision Tech and tell us what you can see on the screen. Menus and button names can differ slightly between versions and makes. If something does not match, stop and ask rather than guess.
