Canon PRINT app: how to print and scan from your phone
Canon PRINT is Canon's free app for printing from a phone or tablet to many PIXMA and other Canon printers. This guide covers the common steps, though screens can differ by model and app version.
Get ready
- Your printer must be switched on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.
- Download Canon PRINT from the App Store or Google Play.
- Allow any permissions the app asks for, such as access to photos or nearby devices. These help it find the printer and your pictures.
Add your printer
- Open the app.
- Follow the prompt to register or select your printer. It should list printers it finds on your network.
- If it does not find the printer, check the printer is on Wi-Fi and use the app's setup option. Setup steps vary by model, so check the leaflet.
Print a photo or document
- Open the app and choose Photo Print, Document Print or a similar option.
- Select the file you want.
- Check the paper size and type match what is in the printer.
- Tap Print.
Scan to your phone
Many Canon all-in-one models can scan to the app. Place the page on the glass, choose the scan option in the app and follow the prompts. Check your model is supported, as not all are.
If something goes wrong
- Turn Wi-Fi off and on again on the phone.
- Make sure your phone is not on a guest network that blocks devices.
- Restart the printer and the app.
- Check you have the latest version of the app from your app store.
When to get more help
Get help if the printer is never found, if scanning will not start, or if you need to move the printer to a new network. Do not open the printer casing, as it holds electrical parts.
