Android apps and the app store on a Clevertouch screen
Many Clevertouch screens run a version of Android inside, which lets you open built-in apps. Some also have an app store. What you can do depends on your model and how your organisation has set it up.
What you may see
The home screen or app list may include the whiteboard, a browser, file manager, Clevershare, and other apps. The built-in Android part of the screen is sometimes called Lux, but your screen may use different names.
Opening an app
- Go to the home screen.
- Tap the app icon.
- To go back, look for a back or home button on the side toolbar or screen edge. The place varies by model.
Installing new apps
Some screens have an app store, and Clevertouch's own software can be installed through it. On many school screens, installing is turned off or needs an administrator password. This is normal. It stops accidental installs and keeps the screen safe for pupils.
If you are allowed to install, use only well-known apps from the official store, and check what the app wants access to.
Asking for an app
Ask your IT team. Tell them:
- the name of the app,
- what you need it for,
- which classes will use it.
They can check it is safe and suitable and may install it for all screens.
When to get more help
If an app crashes, freezes or will not open, restart the screen first. If it keeps happening, tell IT the app name, and what you were doing. If the screen is managed by your school or company, some settings may be locked. Your IT team or the supplier you bought the screen from can help with warranty, firmware and admin-locked settings.
